Wit op Zwart | White on Black
Genomen op Spitsbergen (Svalbard), tijdens mijn werk als expeditie-gids. Zwarte, ruige rotsen vormen een harde achtergrond voor één helder wit moment: een ijsbeer in rust. Het contrast is meteen duidelijk—steen tegenover vacht, grilligheid tegenover stilte. Voor mij maakt juist die spanning de foto geslaagd: het Arctische landschap als decor, en de beer als kalm middelpunt.
Taken in Spitsbergen (Svalbard) during my work as an expedition guide. Black, rugged rocks form a stark backdrop for one bright white moment: a resting polar bear. The contrast is immediately clear—stone against fur, ruggedness against stillness. For me, it is precisely this tension that makes the photo successful: the Arctic landscape as the setting, and the bear as the calm focal point.
